Success for Whitburn Archers at the Morpeth Open
With the new outdoors season underway, a large contingent from Whitburn Archers attended the mud-bath of the Morpeth Open over the bank holiday weekend.
Senior members Ken Hutton, Liz Selkirk, Abby, Jan and Jared Thornton were joined by junior members Zach Casey, Thomas and Rhiannon Graham, Jen Hutton, Craig Spence,Alex and Michelle Wells, not forgetting the judges for the two days, Ken Thornton and Colin Graham, both supplied by Whitburn Archers!
For the seniors a successful two days of shooting resulted in placings for Abby (1st Lady Recurve).
Jan (3rd Lady Compound with a new club record for the single and double Hereford).
Ken (3rd Gent Compound with new club records for the single and double York).
Jared also shot a club record for the double York round.
For the juniors, Michelle (1st Jnr Lady Recurve - Bristol 4 and new junior club records for the single and double Bristol 4).
Rhiannon (2nd Jnr Lady Compound - Bristol 3 and new junior club records for the single and double Bristol 3).
Alex (1st Jnr Gent Compound - Bristol 2 and new junior club records for the single and double Bristol 2).
Jen (2nd Jnr Lady Bristol 4).
Craig (2nd Jnr Gent - Bristol 1 and new junior club records for the single and double Bristol 1).
Multiple county records are also likely to have been set, but until the results sheet is out we can’t confirm yet. Overall a very successful weekend of shooting.
